Jim Lutz

President

Jim was a STG1(SW) on USS TICONDEROGA (CG-47) from 1985 through 1989 and was the Leading Sonar Technician.  TICO was one of 3 ships in Jim’s 21-year career.  He also served on USS LEWIS B. PULLER (FFG-23) and was the Chief Sonar Technician on USS MONTEREY (CG-61).  He served at a variety of other duty stations including Afloat Training Group Atlantic and retired at Commander Undersea Surveillance in Dam Neck, VA.  Jim returned to Nebraska upon his retirement.

Jim returned to Nebraska where he could be close to family and is employed at The Buckle in Kearney.  While he enjoys the outdoor activities, especially camping in the Black Hills of South Dakota, he has a calling to the VFW to support veterans and their families.  He currently serves as the VFW State Legislative Chairman to promote legislation to support veterans in Nebraska.  He is a dog lover and has either adopted or been adopted by several over the years.
